Nykopings BIS

Nyköpings BIS is a Swedish football club located in Nyköping. The club started out as a merger in 1966 between Nyköpings SK and Nyköpings AIK. Since their foundation Nyköpings BIS has participated mainly in the middle divisions of the Swedish football league system in particular Divisions 2 and 3.

During the period 1971 until 1980 and again in 1984 Nyköpings BIS played in Division 2 which at that time was the second tier of Swedish football. The club currently plays in the third tier, Division 1. They play their home matches at the Rosvalla IP in Nyköping. Besides football Nyköpings BIS is also a track and field club.

The club is affiliated to the Södermanlands Fotbollförbund.

Nyköpings BIS er en svensk fodboldklub fra byen Nyköping. Klubben blev grundlagt i 1904 og spiller i øjeblikket i den svenske andendivision Superettan.

Nyköpings BIS har vundet den svenske pokalturnering to gange, i 1969 og 1971. Klubben har også deltaget i UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, hvor den nåede kvartfinalen i 1969-1970-sæsonen.

Nyköpings BIS' hjemmebane er Rosvalla IP, som har en kapacitet på 6.500 tilskuere. Klubbens farver er blå og hvid.

Nyköpings BIS' mest berømte spiller er Lennart "Nacka" Skoglund, som spillede for klubben i 1940'erne og 1950'erne. Skoglund var en af de bedste svenske fodboldspillere nogensinde, og han blev udnævnt til Årets Fodboldspiller i Sverige i 1949.

Nyköpings BIS er en af de ældste fodboldklubber i Sverige, og klubben har en lang og stolt historie. Klubben har vundet flere titler og deltaget i europæiske turneringer, og den har fostret nogle af Sveriges bedste fodboldspillere.
