MKS Puszcza Niepołomice (Polish pronunciation: [ˈpuʂt͡ʂa ɲɛpɔwɔˈmit͡sɛ]) is a professional Polish football club located in Niepołomice, Poland. It currently plays in the Ekstraklasa from 2023–24 after achieving promotion from I liga in 2022–23. The team's colors are yellow, white and green.
History
Puszcza Niepołomice was originally called Sports Club Niepołomianka. The team was established on the initiative of mayor Andrzej Wimer and Stanisław Ziemba, Władysław Iwański, Stanisław Brudnik and Adolf Engel in 1923.
The first president of KS Niepołomianka was Władysław Iwański. The then board also included the treasurer Stanisław Brudnik and the manager of the team - Stanisław Ziemba.
On 11 June 2023, a year in which Puszcza celebrated their 100th anniversary, they won the 2022–23 I liga play-off final and achieved promotion to Ekstraklasa for the first time in the club's history.
Puszcza Niepołomice blev grundlagt i 1992 og tilbragte de første år i de lavere divisioner. I 2006 blev klubben forfremmet til den polske andendivision, og i 2012 nåede den for første gang op i den polske topdivision, Ekstraklasa.
Puszcza Niepołomice tilbragte to år i Ekstraklasa, inden den i 2014 rykkede ned igen. Klubben har siden spillet i 1. Liga og har været tæt på at rykke op igen ved flere lejligheder.
Puszcza Niepołomice har flere notable spillere, herunder tidligere polske landsholdsspillere som Tomasz Kłos og Artur Wichniarek. Klubben har også en stærk ungdomsafdeling, som har produceret flere talenter, der er gået videre til at spille for større klubber.
