Ovarense Basquetebol is a professional basketball team that plays in Ovar, Portugal. The team plays in the LPB. The Ovarense created its section of basketball in 1970, with the initiative of a member entrepreneur, João Gonçalves, but in this period of time managed to assert itself as one of the standards and the inevitable reference method in Portugal.

History

Between 1976–77 and 1978–79, Ovarense ascended from third to first, on the national level, indicating that the team's basketball vocation was strong. The club never fell from its division, and the arrival of two Americans at the end of the 80s gave the team the quality required to raise its level.

Ovarense er en portugisisk basketballklub fra byen Ovar i Aveiro-distriktet. Klubben blev grundlagt i 1975 og spiller i den portugisiske Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol, som er landets øverste række.

Ovarense har vundet det portugisiske mesterskab seks gange, i 1992, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005 og 2006. Klubben har også vundet den portugisiske pokalturnering ni gange, i 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 og 2022.

Ovarense spiller sine hjemmekampe i Pavilhão de Ovar, der har en kapacitet på 3.000 tilskuere. Klubbens hjemmebanetrøjer er røde og hvide, mens udebanetrøjerne er sorte og hvide.

Klubbens mest kendte spillere er Pedro Miguel, Sérgio Ramos og Miguel Minhava.
